German president Christian Wulff’s preference for bread and baked goods made in distant Hanover has got the country’s newly elected head of state into hot water.

德國總統克里斯提安．沃爾夫偏愛在偏遠的漢諾威所製作的麵包與烘焙物，讓這名新當選的德國國家元首惹上麻煩。

German media and opposition politicians have criticized Wulff for importing the bakery specialties from 300 km away to Berlin, calling it a waste of taxpayer money and a poor example as far as his carbon footprint is concerned.

德國媒體與反對黨政治人物批評沃爾夫把遠在300公里外的烘焙特產運到柏林的行為，宣稱此舉浪費納稅人的錢，就碳足跡而言是一種不良示範。

"Why don’t you eat Berlin bread, Mr. President," Bild newspaper wrote on Tuesday.

「總統先生，你為什麼不吃柏林的麵包，」畫報週二寫道。

Claudia Haemmerling, a member of Berlin’s local assembly for the Greens party, said it was absurd to truck bakery goods to Berlin from Hanover because Berlin has plenty of top bakeries. Wulff was previously state premier of Lower Saxony in Hanover.

柏林地方議會的綠黨議員克勞蒂亞．漢莫林說，用卡車把烘焙物從漢諾威運到柏林真是荒謬，因為柏林就有不少頂級烘焙屋。沃爾夫過去是下薩克森邦總理，而漢諾威是該邦首府。

"You can get excellent bread in Berlin," Haemmerling told the daily Berliner Zeitung. The practice began under his predecessor Roman Herzog, president from 1994 to 1999.

「你（沃爾夫）在柏林可以吃到很棒的麵包，」漢莫林告訴柏林人報。這種把外地麵包運送到柏林的做法，始於沃爾夫之前的總統，任期從1994年到1999年的德國前總統羅曼．赫佐格。
